Your going to have to put a rediculous amount of crap on your hard drive to fill it up. Personally I don't think space should be a concernso i can use my space wisely.
yeah i wanna no how many cd's i can put on before my harddisk becomes full!!
Xbox hard drive is 8 gigs. Im not sure of the actual conversion but you could rip a cd that is for example 700 megs in your xbox. See how many blocks that takes up, then do a simple conversion.
How many blocks the cd takes up * 8000 megabytes / 700
I think I did that right?
From browsing over at xboxhackz.com i have found that there is 4 2 gig partions on the xbox hardrive. And they have said the each partion is used for certian things like Saving games, music tacks, game cache, and then finally for video. here is a link were i was able to see this stuff HERE These people here are people trying to find ways to tweak their xbox some are really smart and might know what there talking about so i listen to what they have to say.
For each CD you rip to take up 700mb it would have to be ripping songs to wavs which I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Surely it uses some kind of compression..Originally posted by Skarp

I'd be surprised if ripping a CD used more than 70 Megabytes. With a 2 Gigabyte partition you should be able to rip about 30 CDs.
I believe the xbox rips to from wav to wav so a cd dhouls take 700 megs.
ive ripped 11 full cds, and have alot of saves, and it still says i have 50000+ free blocks.
Yeah, I was just going to say that. I have loads of stuff saved as well, and it still says 50000+ free blocks....hopefully that's not an error, and it will always say that...Originally posted by Snoopy7548

The most probable format is WMA, not WAV.Originally posted by El Pollo Loco

even though it still says i have 50000+ free blocks, when i go into the memory thing, the cds take up like 39000 blocks, so if i subtract, i have like about 11000 blocks left.
there is no way cd's are stored in wav, there are stored in mp3 or wma, something like that. wav takes up way too much space.
I have 376 (188 songs + 188 Songs in my [all music] album) on my HD and a S4it load of saved games etc.
Mine still says +50,000. You can go into the memory section of your dashboard and see how many blocks each album is taking up too.
When the Xbox "rips" the CD's it coverts them into WMA files, Which are pretty small compared to WAV files.
