Internet connection?

I have a cable line 512 download and 128 upload. Rather crap I know. I hope to get a T1 soon.
By the way im from the uk and 2night I was playing halo online, but it took me ages to find a PAL host. When Xbox goes online do u think they will have sorted this problem out? Or am I best importing 1 while I can still take me current Xbox back?

Oh I set it up at 60hz as well so I would have the 30fps like u guys, but nothing

Actually, I have DSL that I haven't paid for since December. I get about 150-200 down, and 20 (w00t) up.

Is it actually any good? At my dorm we couldn't do jack squat and would get 8k/sec downloads at best. The school network administrators believed that we didn't need one of our T1 lines and had it removed. They said it was no longer necessary because they saved enough bandwidth by blocking MP3 downloads. Very lame.

Yeah, its pretty decent... the line gets a little bogged down in the evenings (everyone's downloading music and porn), but its usually faster than a cheetah with its balls on fire.

591 down/1538 up... but I'm testing mine from East Coast to somewhere in Louisiana

512 download and a 128 upload is not crap. All i can get is a 28k connection cos of BT screwed up the phone lines. No cable or adsl available and ISDN is a rip off. Stupid thing is that where i live is in the top 10 or something for most expensive houses, and we can't even get a decent internet connection.
England is rip off and needs to catch up with U.S. If the UK had started cable in the 80's things would be a lot better.
Just my opinion but i think the UK is seriously falling behind and needs to do something about it. Like getting rid of BT.
If only i could play Halo online, my life would be complete!

128 upload is crap for playing online games. IE hosting. 12k which it is just lgs to much if i host and allow more then 3/4 on a game............

the line cost at the moment is not that bad, i mean 25 for cable and 29 for adsl...much better then what is was and its just going to go down again soon...and when i get my t1 from cable i will be avery happy bunny....
and u get 2.8ksec umm, does not sound like a BT fault at all. a standard old copper line would deal with more bandwidth then that, sounds like a problem on your end, like modem or isp......shame your not going to be able to go online with broadband...just make sure u keep on looking at ntl or bt site for updates i your area

2.8 Mbps down. Guess it depends on when you
