I own SSX and I can definitely say that you can not add your own tunes to the game.

Amped is superior in everyway to SSX, so it thereby follows by induction that you can play your own soundtracks in Amped, but not in SSX. Besides, SSX is made by EA, and EA are whores. They never have Xbox exclusive features, and in some cases they tone the game down for Xbox (NBA Live had worse animations on Xbox then on PS2). Besides, I know that Amped supports custom soundtracks - I have it.
