Evidence Chests???

Can somebody help me? I'm not too sure what happened - I got a pillow book for somebody before they asked for it and didn't know I needed it...but I know for a fact I didn't drop it...<im pretty sure...maybe..>..but I know that I was stopped by a guard for trying to pick a lock and they took all my "stolen" items..and this was in the aldoran guard section of ald ruhn's manor...my question is if it is probably in the evidence chest for the area...and if so where are they ?? The only evidence chest I know about is in the Census and Excise office...please help guys thanks

I have seen one evidence chest...in a Fort or a Stronghold I believe...

There is one in Cadera if I'm not mistaken, in the Fort. I might be wrong, I know I've seen one though. I've never had to get stuff out of it though...never had a guard catch me.

I've got that same problem...screwed me out of my glass armor set saweet weapons and skizzed me on this thieves guild quests and the stuff i stole got stolen and now i cant complete the quest!
