If you're in Seyda Neen, head to the Census and Excise building (where you started). THere's a storage room there with a bedroll on the floor where you can sleep for free.
If you're in Balmora (and have started the main quest), you can sleep on Caius Cossades bed for free, too.
Otherwise, find a tavern that offers beds under the discussion menus. Choose that option. Then find the door that says "Room Door." You can sleep on the bed in that room.

Here is a real simple way to get a bed...... just go into some random house and beat the Shlt out of the guy living there and take his bed.

not if your crime isnt reported. hehe. I suggest either going to another site and read up or go weeks or months back in the boards to find the answers to your questions. Because just about everyone here is pretty far in the game and these kids of questions have been talked about A LOT

the prob with morrowind is that its super hard when you start out. Just try and get a good weapon like sword of white woe. if you have that it would help you plenty with the game. just type it in the search in the forums and youll find where to get it
