Default Xbox Video Chip Core Speed

Ok, what it is? Ever since I first found out the specifications of the Xbox it said 250mhz right? I have heard and read that up until the past couple days. Now I keep hearing that it's wrong. Is everyone making up stories, or did it go down, or up, or what??? Or am I just going crazy because I can't wait for the darn thing anymore.

Hey, for the past 2 weeks I have had Tuesday and Wednesday off. Now all of a sudden I have Wednesday and Thursday (Nov. 15) off. This isn't right. I am not getting the Xbox on the day it comes out like I originally was going to. **** car brakes just had to go out 2 weeks before the Xbox comes out. Of course, I will get my pre ordered games that day. Anyway, that's besides the point; ok is it 250Mhz, more or less??

    Anyone know for sure?

Should be 233, or 230...something like that if I remember correctly.

the 733 is the main processor used for the game the 250 is what is installed on the graphics card..
The graphics card trys to take the load off of the cpu (733mhz thing) and display the video using as little of the main processor as possible. 250mhz for a console graphics card kicks ass. needless to say and nvidia makes the most elite chips for pc's atm. (no one say ati radeon 8500 they will never release those so called drivers :P )

    The Xbox has a...
    733MHz intel Pentium 3 CPU
250MHz Custom video chip made only for the Xbox by nVidia (but it is comparable to the GeForce3)
    64MB RAM
    8GB Western Digital HD
    Ethernet Port
Umm maybe other stuff I forgot

Now when you talk about the video card, you must remember at the time the xbox was announced with the nVidia custom chip, I think the GeForce2 line wasnt even out yet. So for nVidia to make prototypes of this chip took a long time and costed a pretty penny..thanks MS! But still, the video card is pretty **** powerful! Now I hope that clears things up. You must also note that a 733MHz P3 might sound like a ok chip, being the P4 is up to 2GHz...but I wouldnt like the less efficient P4 for gaming, and if you were to get a P3 1.1GHz it would cost too much...but think about it, no long OS to load up on top of a game you are playing...no more things to devote your resources to...Jeez I cant wait, now I better go to bed so I wont have to sit through 8 hours of pain looking about how awesome something will be I cant have...

According to the Official Xbox magazine, its a 233mhz graphics chip, I believe they toned it down from 300 for reliability so it won't overheat.
