A few xbox questions

I just purchased an xbox...Holy Crap..halo is amazing!!!
If you don't get Xbox live, is there any use of the lan port on the back of the xbox?
If i am not a member, Can I hook up two xboxes to a LAN and connect the two xboxes?
Also, all my friends have xboxes; How do I connect them and play? e.g. how do i connect 2 xboxes, and play halo with 8 people. Do i need 2 halo dvds, 2 tvs?
Can you play 4 player multiplayer in turok evolution?

you need a system link cable(or a cheaper cat5 crossover cable) and you use that to connect the 2 xboxs. yes you need to disks and 2 tv's

You can use an ethernet switch to hook up more than 2 Xbox's. And yes, each Xbox needs it's own game disc and it's own TV.

Not to flame or make fun of Malamutti, but, aren't those questions answered in the owners manual.
