I can't join games in Halo.

I have my network configuration correct I believe.

Xbox -> crossover cable -> Cable -> network card -> computer -> cable modem -> internet

I'm not using a hub but you don't have too when you have two network cards. After I do all that gamespy stuff, I can get into the system link menu in the Halo game but when a push A to join the game, it says "Can't join game".

Anyone know what I may doing wrong?

The crossover cable is about 50 feet long! Also it looks quite old.(I am borrowing it from friend) I guy told me that my ping was 150345 when I was trying to connect. Since I have a fast cable connection I was thinking it might be the crossover cable I have connected to the Xbox that's screwing me up.

Do you guys agree?

Remember by problem is that my Xbox keeps saying I can't cannot to the system link game.

try CAT5 cables not crossovers and shorten the length
you need a ping of around 100 to play normally

my set up

cable modem/CAT5/linksys hub/CAT5's to xbox and to an ethernet card

been working fine for me
