KOTOR: Pearls?

Okay, I've just beaten tatooine (my second planet after kashyyyk). I've got a question about the pearl you get from the giant dragon. I gave it to the sand people, and the storyteller told me a lengthy history of his existance.. I realize I could have used it in a lightsaber or sold it too. my questions are as follows:

1. How many of these pearls do we come across in the game?
2. What's the point of the storyteller's history lesson, other than plot development?

1. Only one.

2. I wouldn't know. I always use it for someone's lightsaber because it enhances it 2 damage and 3 attack.

The guy at the dragon cave can be killed and you can also get his pearl.. so two... but to answer your second question no there is no point. You lost your pearl for nothin'

If you want to get the pearl back...it's simple. Either open one of the baskets in front of the sand people or have hk-47 question the validity of the stories. This way, you'll kill all of those no good sand people and not gain any light side or dark side points.
