5.1dolby digital question

ive been having problems getting 5.1 digital with games. im hooked up with a fiber optic line to my reciever and s video but no digital??? does this only apply to certain games??? ive tried with doa3, gotham racing and fever 2002. anybody else have any luck??

Be sure to select Dolby Digital in the settings on the dashboard. Start the xbox without a game to get there.

Not all games support DD 5.1 sound though. The only one that I have on your list is DOA3 and it doesn't support DD 5.1 Try out Halo or Blood Wake. Both of those have some great surround sound usage.

i just read a post by netmazk and i think i got stuck with one of the madcatz nonworking av packs. i went to the dashboard and dolby digital isnt even an option on the dashboard. going out for another digital av pack tomorrow, any suggestions?????????
