Is it considered modding if you replace your (thompson) drive with a good drive from a broken Xbox? If it is, please close this thread. I'm just wondering if it will affect XBL.

It will not affect XBL, but your xbox most likely won't work because it was programmed for the thompson drive and not the samsung.

The xbox won't work properly if you replace it with another drive? I thought xbox is capable of allowing all drive to work.
Easy to pick up, hard to put down.

OK, you CAN replace BOTH your DVD Rom drive(but it can not be a normal one, a replacement must be bought from a choice of 3 brands, Samsung, Thompson, and Phillips)
