DICE and Trauma Studios join forces!!

Digital Illusions has begun collaboration with game developer Trauma Studios Inc. During one year Trauma will work on an upcoming product, together with Digital Illusions.

Trauma Studios developed the popular mod to Battlefield 1942, DesertCombat. The new collaboration is for one of Digital Illusions' previously announced projects.

The Company estimates the costs for the collaboration to approximately 550,000 USD during a period of 12 months.

Could this be the Xbox version of Battlefield 1942? Although EA, the publisher of the game, decided to cancel the Xbox version of the popular first person shooter, rumors tell us that we will finally see Xbox Live compatible titles coming up this year from publisher Electronic Arts. Stay tuned.]

More and more hints and rumors talking about this. In fact I read the other day that DICE isn't going to do just a regular port of BF1942 instead they are indeed doing a brand new game supposedly called BATTLEFIELD 2.
