12:51 Ahoy there, me hearties! Sid Meier's and Firaxis' epic swashbuckling, seafaring adventure Pirates! is in development for Microsoft's Xbox console as well as PC, according to reliable shipmates.

Announced at E3 2003, Pirates! is a remake of/follow-up to, Meier's late 1980s swashbuckling smash of the same name that saw strategy fans roaming the high seas in a unique blend of open-ended role-playing, real-time adventuring and thrilling action sequences.

Unfortunately, fearing being hauled around the keel for blabbing about Pirates! on Xbox, our shipmate clammed up and refused to say anything further. Surely it's only a matter of time before the black spot mysteriously arrives in the post...
