oddworld question

i just rented oddworld....I have been playing it for awile and was wondering how long the game is....would someone that beat the game reply. I was just wondering if the game was worth buying or is its gameplay short enough to beat with a rental or two?
what would you suggest?

It really depends on how much time you can dedicate to the game, whether you want to see the different endings and/or just admire the game environment.

Just playing straight through (towards angelic quarma) playing an hour or so a day took me a few weeks. I'm sure if I spent all day I could get through most of it, but I would at the very least recommend picking the game up used at some game store. It's a great game.
