Helpanoob! It won't let me save anymore!

I'm playing Doom3 and it won't save, either on quicksave or a hard save. I also noticed that on the main menu screen it says "sign in failure" or something like that. My last hard save was on July 4th. The game plays fine, just won't let me save. I don't play on Xbox Live.

Does using cheat codes disable the save function?

Any help you can give me is much appreciated! I just started playing with the box this past year and am a casual gamer.

Well, since no one was interested in helping, I started digging real deep in the official Xbox site and found out what caused the problem. I was shutting it down during a bad thunderstorm and the power flickered momentarily. It didn't turn off the box, and I then turned off the surge protector switch. The next time I used it, the problem appeared. The solution: I had to reset the clock and date due to the t-storm. After doing that, the "sign in failed" notice disappeared and I am now able to use the save function.
