Is modding your xbox illegal?

im not sure, i know talk of modding isnt allowed here, but i just wanted to know if its illegal because now that i have a 360 and im never gonna go on live with my old xbox i was gonna mod it so i can load all my games to the hard drive, but not if its illegal.

Yes, it is illegal. Talking about modding an Xbox here at XBA is frowned upon , as well.
