Phantom Dust is rooted deeply in Japanese cyberpunk culture, which gives it a dark, dirty edge. Players romp around a post-apocalyptic Tokyo littered with time worn buildings and vacant superhighways inhabited by the last remnants of humankind. In a nod to William Gibson’s post-modern fiction, broken humans wander about clad in worn textiles that were stylish and new back when the world was right. It is in this dystopian setting where players assign the lead character a name and begin running missions for an underground gang called the Visions.
