Project Gotham Racing
Overall: overall a wonderful game, the courses made from real streets across the world was a good idea. Bigest grip though is the amount of cars, I felt there could have been the normal street cars added as well as the exotics already in it... maybe the 2002 thunderbird or muscle cars, now that would really be sweet!Imagine driving through the hills of sanfransico in a 64 mustang. heh, can we say bullitt?Gameplay: the controls are simple and easy to use, but near impossible to master, requiring lots of practice.. I have yet to actually do a 360 spin while keeping the car moving forward, but it keeps me playing. makes me strive to drive that foggy, rainy course with the carrera with no mistakes. What is increasingly becoming frustrating though is the need for more and more kudos in later levels, I mean there is so much slide or other things you can do without losing your place to the computer cars, THEY don't have to worry about kudos as is obvious with thier perfet turns, so thats kinda a peeve.
Graphics: The best feature of the game is watching the scenery and any passing lights reflect off your car near perfectly. much better than a generic light beam or a blury scene on the cars that remains the same, kudos there! The environments and realistic lighting effects really make the game stand out. as well as the roads with rain, the detail is amazing... but a snow storm would have been a good challenge.
Audio: The sounds of the engines are the best of any driving game I've heard, each car having the sound of its own unique engine. The music selection already on the disc is fantastic and the raido feature is fun to mess around with, though how can they have a car game without the song "lowri
ders"
; or "don't stop the rock"?
Suggestions: As said above, the biggest suggestion would be the addition of more cars *cough* GT3 has 130 *cough* Musclecars and the current street cars would be great for racing that 'daily driver'. A snowy road or something similar as for more roads and levels.
