Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Gameplay: The gameplay is fantastic. The control layout is simple, effective and takes maybe five minutes to learn. The positioning of the black and white buttons on the controller s make it even easier to pause or switch party members if you feel so inclined. The swoop racing is great, simple controls (moving left thumb stick, pressing A button) but still strategic enough that it easy or hard, just right. The ability to man the gun turrets in the Ebon Hawk to take down fighters is nice, and also simplistic yet fun. Pazzak is also nice to take a break and either make or lose a fortune. There was only two real things about the gameplay that I wasn't to thrilled about. First is the load times. Often areas are rather small and somewhat insignificant, so you will go through there in about ten seconds then be forced to site through at least one minute of load time for the next area. On the Xbox I see no reason why KOTOR couldn't have seamless integration from one area to the next. Another issue is the combat system. Many people praise it for being great, I found it decent. I would rather have direct control over my weapon, and the ability to move around while still fighting. Two minor complaints in an otherwise amazing gameplay experience.
Graphics: Some of the best graphics I have seen to date. The worlds of Dantooine, Kashyyk, and the Unknown World are particularly beautiful. The character models of all the main characters are excellent. However throughout the game you will see the same character model used on a number of minor characters, or ordinary citizens. That is to be expected however in any game.
Audio: Easily the best sound in any game I have ever played. The music is true to the Star Wars feel, and the sounds are spot on. The lightsaber and blaster sounds, sound exactly like those of the movies. The only thing with the voices is with the aliens you will eventually hear the "loop". That is, the same sounds will be made repeatedly, again that is to be expected however.
Suggestions: Two suggestions,
1.) More free roaming enviroments, no load times between area a and b. Seamless integration.
2.) Complete real time combat.
Overall Score: 10.0 / 10
