Halo Movie Still Under Consideration
Speaking during a panel at last weeks MI6 Conference, 343 Industries creative director Frank OConnor shared his thoughts on the possibility of the Halo franchise branching out into film. His take on a potential Halo movie: Its less of an "if" and more of a "when" scenario.
"Were going to make a movie when the time is right," Frankie told the crowd at the "Extending Your Game Beyond the Package" session at MI6 (via IGN). "We own the IP. If we want to make a movie, the scale of all the other stuff that we do changes dramatically. We make tens and tens of millions of dollars on ancillary stuff, toys, apparel, music and publishing. If we do a movie all of that will grow exponentially. We have some numbers if we do a movie, but it changes everything. It also changes our target and age demographic."
Lets just hope that when Microsoft finally does decide to cash in on a Halo movie, they dont run into the studio conflicts that killed the Peter Jackson and Neill Blomkamp-helmed Halo picture a few years back. Some of us cant handle that kind of heartbreak twice.
