(RUMOR) - Heavenly Sword Rumored to be Making DMC 5
Its been over a year since the release of Devil May Cry 4, with little news regarding the future of the franchise in the meantime. But if a new rumor holds true, then not only is Devil May Cry 5 already in the works, but its got a surprising developer behind it: Heavenly Sword creators Ninja Theory.
The rumor comes by way of the latest issue of Game Informer, as relayed by The Silent Chief (via CVG). Heres the blurb that reportedly appears in the mag:
Loose Talk has learned that Enslaved isnt the only game Ninja Theory is working on -- weve heard that the Cambridge, England developer is being tapped for the next Devil May Cry.
It is not totally unexpected, however; Capcom has said that although it is shying away from Western developer [sic] for new IP, it would continue to utilize them for known franchises, which DMC certainly is.
(Were going to assume the singular use of "developer" in the blurb was a transcription error and not what shows up in the magazine, although we havent seen the issue ourselves.)
As mentioned above, Ninja Theory is currently developing Enslaved for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, so Devil May Cry 5 would not (theoretically) be their first multiplatform title.
