(RUMOR) - Activision Registers New GoldenEye Domain
Newly registered domain names sometimes mean nothing more than a company wanting to protect their intellectual properties online, but they can also sometimes hint at new plans for intellectual properties in the future. And this ones definitely intriguing enough to take note of: Superannuation reports that Activision has registered "goldeneyegame.com," suggesting what may be a new James Bond title.
The question is what relation this potential new James Bond title has to prior Bond games -- and which ones. Rares GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64 probably remains the most famous Bond game ever made, but its also possible a new GoldenEye game could be some sort of sequel to the quickly-forgotten GoldenEye: Rogue Agent from 2006. Activision also already announced last year that a new James Bond title is in development, rumored to be developed by Bizarre Creations -- and also rumored to be titled "Bloodstone" after a leaked U.K. retailer listing earlier this week.
All of which just adds more questions to the mix: Are there now two Bond games in the works at Activision? Or (again) is the domain goldeneyegame.com actually just a placeholder with no real game to go with it? Well have to wait and see until Activision decides to clarify the matter.
