UDS Licenses NetImmerse 3D
Scandinavian developer UDS has licensed NDLs NetImmerse 3D game engine for upcoming titles on Xbox and PS2. The company is reported to be developing developing a third-person action adventure game and a racing/shooting title.NetImmerse is known as one of the most versatile 3D engines for multiple genres mostly used for racing games, and it saves developers a lot of time because they can focus a lot more on game-play. It is also part of Microsofts middleware for Xbox.
"NDL offers a multi-platform engine that is versatile enough to satisfy a wide range of game styles and genres. While other engines are designed with a particular type of game in mind, we felt NetImmerse suited UDS’ broad range of development plans, from third-person adventures and driving games to first-person shooters. We anticipate the cross-compatibility aspects of the NetImmerse engine will save us a huge amount of development time," says Alan Bunker, directoer of development at UDS.
