Xbox Presents “Kinect” at Edinburgh
Xbox is pleased to announce that it is bringing Kinect, the magic of controller-free gaming, to the Edinburgh Interactive Festival on Wednesday 25 August at 7.30pm. In a UK first, "Kinect Football", which is included in the forthcoming launch title, "Kinect Sports", will make its first public appearance post-Gamescom 2010 in Cologne.
Rares Studios Kinect Development Director, Nick Burton, will demonstrate "Kinect Football" alongside the track & field and bowling games available on "Kinect Sports"as well as provide insights into how these games were developed. Designed for family fun, "Kinect Sports - Football" ensures families can enjoy Europes favourite game in their own living rooms - all without controls! Launching on 10 November 2010, Kinect for Xbox 360 allows users to jump into Kinect-enabled games for any type of play, by using gesture and voice control, whilst the Kinect Hub puts your favourite movies, TV programmes, music, live sports and friends all in one place - with YOU as the controller. The following day, Thursday 26 August, at 1.45pm, Xbox LIVE EMEAs General Manager, Jerry Johnson, will be talking about social gaming experiences available on Xbox LIVE as well as Kinect and Microsofts expansion into the controller-less world of entertainment. Jerry will survey possible futures for interactive entertainment and delve into the opportunities and challenges these pose for the gaming industry.
