Medal of Honor Getting Free and Premium DLC

Just a week before the release of its biggest competitor, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Medal of Honor will be seeing new downloadable content of both the free and premium varieties on November 2.
The premium downloadable content will include a new King of the Hill-style game mode called Hot Zone. It’s playable on two new maps included with the DLC called Hindukush Pass and Korengal Outpost, as well as on redesigned versions of existing maps Shahikot Valley and Helmand Valley. The DLC pack will be available simultaneously on the Xbox Live Marketplace, PlayStation Network, and EA Store (for PC gamers) for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points.

As for the previously announced free content, it will include a new mode called Clean Sweep that is an "elimination mode," which sounds like a one-life-per-round type affair. Along with this new mode, two new maps -- Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves -- will be released. Like the Hot Zone mode, Clean Sweep will also work on two redesigned versions of existing maps: in this case, Diwagal Camp and Kabul City Ruins.

The free DLC will be available only to those who purchased new copies of Medal of Honor and have redeemed their one-time-use code included with the game; owners of used copies will need to purchase a code from the Xbox Live Marketplace or PlayStation Network. PC gamers, on the other hand, will simply have to look for a new patch that will be available no earlier than November 2.
