WarDevil Resurrected as Project Kane
It appears that WarDevil isn’t quite as dead as we though. It will, however, be getting a name change.
Develop reports that Ignition recently undertook a complete review of the game’s title, assets and internal team. The current prototype will be renamed "Project Kane" and put into full production.
"There has been speculation recently about this project but our vision has always been to create top quality content both with internal and external partners and this latest commitment combines the best of the DNA behind the original project vision with some of the creative talent available in the broader industry," said UTV Ignition group chairman Hassan Sadiq. "Outsourcing ensures flexibility and broader expertise that will dovetail perfectly with internal skill sets to speed up the process and ensure a title of true excellence."
WarDevil was revealed approximately five years ago, and has experienced numerous delays. It was has long been pitched as a game with the highest level graphics running at 60 FPs. It was thought dead for good with Ignition’s new focus on digital distribution.
The newly-resurrected Project Kane has been "fast-tracked" according to design director Julian Glover, and is now scheduled for Q4 2011.
