Microsoft to remove all “gun-like” Avatar items
According to a post on the Epic Games Forums, Community Manager Will Kinsler, Microsoft will be removing all gun-like Avatar items from the Xbox Live Marketplace on January 1, 2012:
"Heads up! Starting on Jan. 1, 2012, the Lancer and Hammerburst avatar items will no longer be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. If you’ve purchased the items prior to Jan. 1, you will be able to keep them. A new policy goes into effect for all gun-like avatar items on the Marketplace, so get them while they’re hot."
Anyone that had purchased gun items before the new policy goes into effect will remain on their account, unaffected. You can search the Xbox Live Marketplace for these soon-to-be collector’s items here. The four Gears of War Avatar guns are:
Gold Hammerburst - 320 MS Points
-Hammerburst - 320 MS Points
-Gold Lancer - 320 MS Points
-Lancer - 320 MS Points
If you want to get that "gun like" item, you better rush to the XBLM before January 1,2012 to do so cause after that time they will just be added to the list of avatar collectors items. It is very weird though considering 3 of the major titles on the console are Halo, Call of Duty & Gears of War.
