Xbox Quotes!

Well seeing as how this is a big day obviously, it’s the launch of the very long awaited (and I can’t tell you how extremely long the wait has been) Xbox, everybody from the fans/consumers to developers to retailers to Bill Gates himself have more than just a little to be happy about. I collected some quotes from all over the internet and will continue to add more quotes as I find along the way that everyone has a part in the Xbox and everyone has something to say. Check ’em out below, these words are sacred right now because they are being said on Xbox’s launch:

  • "The future of gaming starts today, and it starts with Xbox," beamed Bill Gates as Microsoft launches the world’s most powerful console into North America today. "Xbox is a key part of our strategy to drive the digital entertainment revolution and deliver the future of interactive entertainment to the home. It’s a great example of how Microsoft is innovating. But most important, it’s incredibly cool."
  • "It’s the best system. It’s great. I can’t wait for it. I’ve been waiting a long time," says Xbox fan Eduardo Glucksman. Eduardo Glucksman was sold the first Xbox today by Bill Gates, I would’ve been speechless meeting Bill Gates.
  • "Together with our partners, we created Xbox to change the way people think about video games," added Robbie Bach, chief Xbox officer at Microsoft. "Today’s launch of Xbox is a giant step toward achieving that goal. Over the next few weeks and months, you can expect new Xbox games that further demonstrate the power of Xbox through unprecedented levels of realism, gameplay and entertainment. With a built-in hard drive and Ethernet port, Xbox is the only system designed from the ground up to deliver a complete online gaming experience. Online is our secret weapon."
  • Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of the stunning Dead or Alive 3, also got in on the act, "Xbox allows the game artists at Tecmo to create stunning, movie-like experiences in games like they’ve never been seen before. Dead or Alive 3 has been called the best-looking videogame ever, and it’s all thanks to the tremendous power and flexibility of Xbox."
  • "I saw the comparisons of the Xbox to the other systems, and it’s the best system there is right now. Plus, it’s Microsoft," said 19-year-old Brooklyn resident Ilya Ambrasky. Ambrasky and his friend Basar Kazi waited in the WWF Restaurant since 3PM just to get a Xbox! Kazi was overly impressed with the way Microsoft delievered a well done launch.
  • "We got a chance to play almost every single game that was out at launch," said Basar Kazi. "That gave us a chance to actually get hands-on experience. I think the Xbox and WWF did a wonderful job. I was disappointed by the PS2 [launch]."
  • "My sons told me don’t come back home without it," said Yolanda Sweeting with her Husband, a mother of three.

Hey Eduardo, you da man! If you’re reading this, e-mail us and tell us what it was like to be sold the very first Xbox by Bill Gates.

Also, while reading this post on FGN Online, I found out that players will be able to enter the online arena Broadband with the Xbox’ hard drive and its Ethernet Port come Summer of 2002! Hey guys, you’ve waited longer than a year for the Xbox to come out, then waiting for the Summer of 2002 shouldn’t be hard either.
