Battlefield V Update Hitting on January 15th
EAs Battlefield V has had a rocky reception amongst all the fans, as some love it, and others are not huge supporters of it. Regardless, EA and DICE keep on supporing the game with free content, and this latest piece of news is no different.
You be able to download new content in the Chapter 2: Lightning Strikes update, going live tomorrow, January 15. And, as EA and DICE noted during the development of the game, all DLC and additional content that comes to Battlefield V is free to all players as part of Tides of War.
So, what are the highlights? Well, kicking off tomorrow is Squad Conquest, a tighter and more intense version of Conquest that enables more tactical gameplay between two teams of 16 players on the Arras, Rotterdam and Hamada maps. Launching alongside Squad Conquest are four new weapons, which can be unlocked through Weekly Challenges, including:
- Zk-383 SMG (Medic class)
- Modele 1944 semi-automatic rifle (Assault class)
- M1922 MMG (Support class)
- Mk. III bolt-action rifle (Recon class)
A new Grand Operation, called Battle of Hannut, will deploy in Chapter 2. Set in the French and Belgian countryside, players will give it their all in Airborne, Breakthrough, and – for the first time in a Grand Operation – Rush mode. Also noted are that Time to Death and Death Experience fixes have been updated following community feedback in those areas.
It was also discussed that Combined Arms, a co-op experience, will be launching with Chapter 2 in February. In the first Combined Arms endeavor, players will attempt a surgical strike on a single objective in eight missions. Players can also look forward to the return of Rush mode exclusively for a limited time in March. In Rush mode, the objective depends on whether you’re on the attacking or defending side. The mode will be available on the maps Twisted Steel, Narvik, and Devastation. Other content, like the Tank Hunter vehicles, will be added to Battlefield V in later updates throughout Lightning Strikes.
So there you have it folks, free content is again arriving for Battlefield V.
