Taz is Wanted on Xbox
Infogrames has announced announces a new 3D action platform game that goes by the name Taz Wanted, featuring none other than Warner Brothers Looney Tunes character Tasmanian Devil for the Xbox, PC, and PS2. Being developed by Blitz Games, Taz Wanted also casts Yosemite Sam as the villain who has captured Taz. After Taz manages to escape from imprisonment and becomes a fugitive on the run, he must destroy all of the Taz Wanted posters and avoid his recapture by biting, spinning, eating, breaking, and running. It will be the players job to do just that."We are very pleased to be working with Blitz on Taz Wanted," said Kerri Orders, head of family marketing at Infogrames. "Blitz has demonstrated a great expertise in producing high quality games with broad-based appeal. To date, we are confident that our debut launch of the most popular Looney Tunes character, the Tasmanian Devil, on next generation platforms will be one of the most wanted games by both gamers and casual gamers alike. Tazs irreverent and aggressive character is perfectly translated by Blitz into the interactive arena."
"Taz Wanted has been a great opportunity for us at Blitz to work with Infogrames for the very first time," said Jon Cartwright, project manager at Blitz Games. "Taz is such a wild character and Infogrames has given us the freedom to go to town creatively with this game. Weve managed to bring Taz and other Looney Tunes characters to next-gen platforms with fantastic animation. The whole look is true to the heritage of the brand but weve also managed to bring it right up to date putting Taz in a contemporary environment."
The hardworking folks over at GameSpot have a first look and screenshots of the game that is in development for the Xbox and is currently scheduled to ship on May 31.
