A Letter From a MemberYou guys remember Bobby? He sent us that really long letter we just that we had to post a week ago. Well, in light of all the rumors that Microsoft may be in talks with third-party developers/publishers for mergers, he did extensive research on how much Microsoft is worth against the competition and how well they could buy out a company if they really wanted to. We simply thought we had to post this. So if lets say Sony was also in talks with the same companies Microsoft is in, Xbox fans have nothing to worry about with this humorous letter backing your hopes up:
It seems there is a large posse of PS2 fans out there that are intent to believe that Sony is worth about the same as Microsoft. Where the hell did they get that? I decided to do a little bit of investigating and found out exactly how much Microsoft and Sony are worth. This is as of December 11,2001.
Microsoft is as of today $319,421,909,280 dollars richer, roughly worth about 8.5 times more than Sony.
Here's something definitely worth mentioning- Bill Gates is worth $44,664,140,075--- slightly more than the entire Sony Corporation. And 500 millions bucks for marketing represents about .138% of the pool of money Microsoft has.
Oh darn, I can really hear the Microsoft stock holders screaming in agony "My Microsoft stocks are .138% lower than I expected!" ::stock holder jumps off building::
The fact is, Microsoft is going to kick Sony's ass. Theoretically Microsoft could buy One billion, two hundred eight million, five hundred sixty-three thousand, one hundred ninety-seven people an Xbox(1,208,563,197 units). How's that for market share? And here's a really burning question- Do you think Microsoft will ever back out of the videogame industry now that it's in? For some reason I can't see Bill Gates conceeding that his company got their ass kicked by a relatively midget company.
Man, talk about knowing yer mathematics!
