Microsoft Preps Japanese Launch

In order to create buzz around the Japanese launch of Xbox and actually get the Japanese gaming community to embrace something that isn’t Japanese, Microsoft held a press even in Tokyo to preview one of several titles entitled Mice Day, due to release alongside the Xbox the 22nd of February!

The event opened up with representatives from several companies including Japanese Xbox software director Toshiyuka Miyata (God bless this man) giving their speeches enthusing the upcoming Japanese Xbox launch. Attendees were presented with a demonstration of Mice Day and a television commercial made for the game, which was shot earlier this month featuring a group of martial artists on a beach intermixed with game footage. Bad ass! If you live in Japan and own a television which you do if you play video games, the advertisment is scheduled for airing next month so keep your channel clicker ready.

CoreMagazine.com has some images from the event, including screenshots from Mice Day. Also, Japanese recording group Folder 5 was at the event to sing the game’s theme song Magical Eyes, see if you can download that on Morpheus or somewhere and let me know if it’s any good.
