Neo Tech cracks the Xbox
While Xbox Addict in no way supports the idea or the promotion of pirating software, this post just couldn't be ignored. Neo Tech has developed a process that reportedly will allow gamers to play Xbox Original titles from different regions on their Xbox called Neo-X. The Neo-X is not being designed for gamers to play "backup" (pirated) titles and currently there is no modchip design yet. The instructions on which area of the flash rom to patch were given to Neo Tech by an overseas enthusiast who simply wanted to see if his ideas were correct. They implemented his ideas and they worked. Test machine was a USA console playing Max Payne PAL, and a PAL console playing HALO NTSC. What does this mean and how will it affect you as a gamer? If the mod-chip is developed and Neo isn't sued by Uncle Bill, the Xbox gaming experience will have officially gone to the next level. US gamers will be able to play Japanese titles and vice versa. Gaming will take on a whole new experience. You can head over here to read the info and the disclaimers. Thanks to our official XBA Canadian, E-Xbox for the heads up. eh?Source: http://www.xboxaddict.com/
