Racing wheel endorsed by Dale Jr goes to Xbox

INTERACT STREAMLINES RACING WHEEL LINE V-Thunder Will Lead The Pack
July 17, 2002 ~ Hunt Valley, MD ~ Mid-way through the 2002 NASCAR season, InterAct Accessories presents its plan to take its successful line of racing wheels to a single design for each video game platform. The V-Thunder™ racing wheel for PlayStation®2, introduced in mid-February 2002, has shown such overwhelming success, that the company will introduce a V-Thunder wheel for GameCube® and Xbox®. “The V-Thunder is our best selling wheel to date with growing sales each month and this is at a time of year that is not typically strong for racing wheel sales,” said Rodney Hillman, Vice President of InterAct Product Development. “The combination of a lower price point, improved design and the endorsement by Dale Earnhardt Jr. has made the V-Thunder a hit with fans of racing games.” The V-Thunder (dual compatible for PS2 and PS one) at an MSRP of $29.99 has an 8.5-inch diameter wheel with rubberized hand grips, pressure sensitive analog gas and brake pedals, vibration feedback, eight digital fire buttons, eight-way digital D-Pad, suction cups to keep wheel secure to any flat surface, and analog hand paddles which can be utilized as an alternate method of braking and accelerating. InterAct, a Recoton company (NASDAQ:RCOT), has several retail and marketing programs associated with the V-Thunder racing wheel. These include full-page color advertisements in the 2002 NASCAR Preview Guide and the weekly Winston Cup Scene, in-box racing wheel catalog and poster featuring InterAct spokesperson Dale Earnhardt Jr., distribution of Earnhardt Jr. trading cards at trade shows, and the dalejrwheels.com website. For PC gaming, InterAct continues to produce the V3 Advanced FX racing wheel with analog steering wheel and foot pedals for an MSRP of $39.99. With several new racing games launching during the summer months, gamers seeking the ultimate driving experience should be on the look-out at their favorite electronic and toy retailers for the GameCube and Xbox V-Thunder racing wheels expected in August and September 2002 respectively.
