Xbox Live Survey
In case you havent checked your email today, I would highly advise you do so if you signed up for the Xbox Live Beta. You are asked to take a short 9 question survey which will be reviewed by Microsoft to determine who the Beta testers will be. There might be more surveys in the future with more specific questions, but for the meantime the email does answer some critical questions if you were interested. First off, being a beta tester isnt free. You will be required to pay $49.95, about the price of a newly released game, for the Beta Starter Pack. For your money Microsoft will send you the Xbox Communicator Headset and controller module, 1 year of Xbox Live service, the setup DVD and the handy reference guide. All of this will be released sometime in November, but if you are accepted to the Beta you will receive all of this much earlier, and some killer extras such as an online only version of NFL Fever 2003. Although Microsoft does hint that it is very possible you will receive other XBL games in the future to test. This is probably because people who dont like Fever or even football so much can still stress test the servers to make sure they can handle all the testers. To sweeten the deal, your one year of XBL service does not start until the official release, so you would be playing for free (minus the $50 for the Beta Starter Kit) until XBL is actually released.Source: http://www.xboxaddict.com/
