The XBOX leak!
Well the world just couldn’t wait for Uncle Bill to unveil the design this weekend at the CES event, instead by a blunder from either EGM or Electronics Boutique the February issue of EGM hit the stands in the Great White North aka Canada. Faster than you could say Eh? peeps were scanning the pages and sending them via the web to all of the major gaming news sites on the net. Needless to say Microsoft was unhappy with the turn of events and started a crusade to have the scans removed from the web in hopes of retaining a level of secrecy before the weekends events.While most of the game sites have honored Microsofts wishes (us included), there are a few out there that are still sporting the scans. Microsoft has neither admitted that the scans are the final design nor are they denying it. CVG had this quote posted up from a senior European Xbox spokesperson, "The official line is still that we cannot confirm or deny these reports,"....."Suffice it to say we’re not happy about this."
Regardless of whether they are happy or not, the buzz is that the XBOX is truly a piece of work with a flawless design as well as being very asthetically pleasing. More on the specifics will be delivered this weekend with the webcast keynote address from Bill Gates live from the CES.
