XBox Gets N.U.D.E.
Japanese XBox gamers will be able to hold a conversation with their XBox in 2003. Literally. Straight from the Tokyo Game Show, the Natural Ultimate Digital Experiment was announced. This game will allow you to talk to a robot via the XBox Communicator. The robot will have no intelligence at first, but over time, it will begin to learn from you and eventually converse with you like a normal person. Such use of a microphone peripheral has not been seen since the Dreamcast release of "Seaman", but N.U.D.E. is taking artificial intelligence to a new level. The robot in N.U.D.E. will understand the tones of your voice, and understand if you are happy, angry or sad, and will also use these same emotions to display it’s own mood. This is possible thanks to Toshiba Corp., who will be developing the voice communication system. The robots voice will be presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, making it the most realistic experience possible. There is no official announcement if N.U.D.E. will make it to the United States. For those of you uneasy about talking to a robot, rest assured, the visual presentation of the robot is not an eyesore :D Click the links below to check out the first official screenshots, as well as read some more info on N.U.D.E: Image 1 Image 2 Image 3 Image 4 For the full translated press release, Click Here For the offical N.U.D.E. website, Click HereSource: http://Xbox.jp/software/NUDE/
