Japan executive joins Xbox team
Microsoft Corp. is transferring a top executive from Japan to its U.S. headquarters in a top-down effort to revitalize its flagging video-game business in Japan. PAT OHURA, managing director at Microsoft Japan and head of the company’s Xbox team in Japan, will transfer to the U.S. in January and join the team of executives at Microsoft’s Redmond, Wash., headquarters who manage the Xbox video-game business world-wide, according to people familiar with the plan. Mr. Ohura will report to Microsoft Senior Vice President Robbie Bach, the head of the Xbox business. (MSNBC is a Microsoft-NBC joint venture.) In his new position, Mr. Ohura will be expected to inject lessons learned overseeing the Japan group into Microsoft’s overall Xbox business. Microsoft has been plagued with problems managing its relations with demanding Japanese game developers over the past several years. Catch the rest of the story here.Source: http://www.msnbc.com/
