Stormfront Interview

DailyRadar had the chance to pop a few questions off to Stormfront Studios about their development for the XBOX as well as the lessons learned from the recent decisions from Sega. Stormfront Studios is a multiplatform developer for all consoles and was one of the first developers announcing support for the XBOX. With titles such as Nascar and the Tony Larussa Baseball series, Stormfront is known for quality titles. While there are two titles in development by Stormfront, none have been officially announced, althought Microsoft has hinted that the first title will be an action-combat game. You can click here to check out the interview, and as always...a blurble.

Daily Radar: Being one of the earliest developers for the Xbox means a lot of pressure, especially with the second wave of PlayStation2 games coming out in the fall. What’s the one best thing you think the Xbox has going for it that is really going to make it competitive?

DD: First of all, I think it helps that Stormfront is doing both Xbox and PS2 games, because it means we get to compare and contrast the strengths of each. This lets us maximize the experience for owners of each console instead of building "one size fits all" games.

In our case, the best part of working on Xbox is that we’re doing a title for Microsoft itself, which means we have the power of the Microsoft brand and distribution channel behind our game. Since the producers with whom we work at Microsoft are veteran gamers who understand our craft, we get the best of both worlds: a small-company-style production team and a massive publisher sales force.
