The Public Speaks
After word got out that the Xbox might have a price tag of $400 many gamers voiced their opinions over at Gamespot. Most of the people felt that the price of $400 was really going to put a strangle hold on their wallets and would not pay that much for a console. Others stated that the price was fair due to all of the Xbox specifications, and some could give a damn what the cost is. Here are just a few comments that were made.
Jeffrey Pawson: "Expect this to go down to about $300, like the PS2 launch."Paul Gale: "400 bucks is a little high for a video game system, but it is a reasonable price for the Xbox." Considering all the extra stuff they are cramming into the thing, they have to jack up the price a bit."
RetroD: "Ease up on the caffeine people. And dont believe everything you read. MS knows the PS2 and GameCube will be competing at a low price point next fall. And the PS2 will be pushing second generation games by then. With that in mind, the Xbox launching at $400 is not likely."
