Madcatz inks deal
According to Msxbox, "Madcatz announced today that it has entered into a worldwide license agreement with Microsoft allowing Mad Catz to design, manufacture, and market licensed third-party peripherals for the Xbox in North America, Europe and Japan." While no official press release was available on the Madcatz website, you can expect good things to come for 3rd party peripherals...now lets just hope they put together a keyboard and mouse for the XBOX!
Microsoft has given Mad Catz the green light to design, manufacture and market licensed third-party peripherals for Xbox in North America, Europe and Japan. Mad Catz has plans for an Xbox controller, memory unit, racing wheel and its exclusive Panther joystick (which features a trackball and joystick combination for first-person play in action games). Additional licensed products, such as light guns and fishing rods, will be launched to coincide with software releases. The agreement also allows Mad Catz to work closely with Xbox software developers to arrange peripheral/software bundles and other cooperative integration.
