Medal of Honor preview
IGN has put together a heads up preview of the recently announced Quake III powered historical shooter, Medal of Honor. Publisher Electronic Arts and developer 2015 look to have a very solid title that’s going to take the world by storm! You can check out the goods here.
Unlike Id’s classic shooter, Medal of Honor has always strived to accurately portray the events of WWII, while still giving you an action-paced adventure that dips from both Quake, Thief, and Metal Gear Solid. The amount of detail was amazing -- throw a grenade at a soldier, for instance, and they could run away, dive on it in an attempt to save their fellow soldiers, or if they were brave enough, even pick it up and throw it back at you. Sneaking gave you an opportunity to jump the gun on enemies, and kept you alive while on stealthier missions against large number of foes. Weapons were based on real-life weapons used at the time, and the sound effects were spot on in delivering every detail of the grisly sounds of the era. Music was accurate for the place and time – even the art on the walls was researched to ensure that it looked and felt authentic.
