Japanese development projects
Gamespot reported today that Microsoft revealed brief details about its first-party software plans for the Japanese market. Xbox Japan is headed up by Toshiyuki Miyata, other players are Shigehisa Kojo (helped to develop the popular game Metal Gear Solid), and Hirohiko Iyoku (worked on the game Legend of Dragoon). Miyata was quoted as saying "I think that we can develop cutting-edge software," Miyata said. "Something that you cant experience anywhere else. We want to make software that will captivate people." Xbox Japan currently has 12 projects in the works for the Xbox. Specific game titles in development were not discussed. Further announcements regarding those games are expected at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2001 Spring.
