The Ultimate Spider Man- At Activisions "Activate" event yesterday in Europe, the Santa Monica, Ca.-based publisher announced a flurry of games due in 2005 including a new Spider-Man game based on the Marvel Comics Ultimate line of comics. While it didnt reveal the developer or the games content, Activsions The Ultimate Spider-Man is most likely to be developed by Treyarch (which has worked on the last two Spider-Man games). Its also sure to be stylized like Spider-Man is in that series and to include the villains and storylines from it as well. Since Activision is newly bent on pounding gamers with its franchises each year, expect Ultimate Spider-Man (2005) to be followed by Classic Spider-Man in 2006 (thats just our guess), and Spider-Man 3 (confirmed) to appear in 2007 to coincide with the third and final Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man movie. What else was confirmed at Activision Activate? Our European correspondent reports that the next Tony Hawk game (after THUG 2), Quake 4, Call of Duty 2, Iron Man, the next True Crime game, and Neversofts new (and yet to be named) action game will all arrive in 2005.
