The battle in Japan
An article posted up on MSNBC takes a look at the struggle that Microsoft has with convincing the Japanese market that XBOX is "the" console to develop for. Despite a strong showing at the TGS, the Japanese developers (and hell the Japanese themselves) are not easy to persuade. Since TGS only a few Japanese developers have since reported their support for the console, while quite a few have mixed feelings and deep concerns.
"I have two concerns about Xbox," says Keiji Honda, president and COO of Enix Corporation. "My first concern is that it is being designed and marketed by Microsoft, and my second concern is that it will be compatible with Windows."You can click here to check out the whole thing."Most of the [game] developers for Xbox are PC game publishers," Honda continues. "I believe that PC games and console games should be different, and I don’t know if Japanese gamers will be interested in playing PC games on a console."
