Xbox 2 To Debut At E3 2005
Xbox 2 to Debut at E3 2005 January 31, 2005 - In a conversation with Microsoft management today, American Technology Research analyst P.J. McNealy said the hardware manufacturer would not premiere its new next-generation console at this years Game Developers Conference, but instead is likely to unwrap its powerhouse system at E3 in May. At the spring 2001 GDC in San Jose, Microsoft unveiled its first home console to a wild crowd of excited gamers and developers, using the normally small developers conference as a launch pad to garner attention, particularly among the development community. Many pundits (including IGN) believed Microsoft would do it again in 2005 for its upcoming and unannounced system. And why not? The conference is a perfect place to plant the seed of excitement for a new platform and give gamers the first news in a less crowded, more focused setting than E3. Although Microsoft has yet to actually acknowledge the existence of its system, code-named Xenon, today the company today came closest, admitting its system wont show up at GDC and is most likely to appear at E3. McNealys report logically follows up Microsofts conference call from last week, when it suggested there would be little news on Xenon until E3. Well have more news soon.Source: http://www.ign.com/
