Game Developers Conference
One of the highlights of each Game Developers Conference is the announcement of the Game Developers Choice Awards, some of the most respected accolades in the industry. As the awards are chosen by professional game developers, even we discriminating editors at IGN tip our caps to the tastes of the devs themselves. This year, with no large surprise, Valves Half-Life 2 takes home the crowning title of Best Game, with Best Character Design thrown in for good measure. Halo 2 steps up from the console world to grab the Audio award, and beloved underdog Katamari Damacy gets both Game Design and Innovation awards. Eugene P. Jarvis, the man behind arcade classics like Smash TV and N.A.R.C., is this years Lifetime Achiever.
