Ubisoft Slam-Dunks AND 1 March 16, 2005 - Taking its second step into sports video games, Ubisoft announced today it will produce games based on the AND 1 Mix Tape Tour, under an exclusive licensing deal. Along with its line of shoes and apparel, AND 1 is perhaps best known for the AND 1 Mix Tape Tour, a summer-long show which pits top local players against the heroes of AND 1’s roster, including The Professor, Spyda, Half Man-Half Amazing, AO, Sik wit It, and Main Event. "We are excited to be collaborating with Ubisoft to make a game inspired by the AND 1 Mix Tape Tour," said Ron Skotarczak at AND 1. "We are looking forward to working together to create a franchise that captures the spirit of what the AND 1 brand represents - authenticity, attitude and performance." "Ubisoft is thrilled to be adding the AND 1 license to its line-up of sports videogames," said Laurent Detoc, president of Ubisoft North America. "The strength of the AND 1 brand and the creativity Ubisoft brings to the table make this agreement exciting news for the sports genre." Ubisoft’s AND 1 deal is the second sports exclusive for the company, which stepped into the sports game arena in February, announcing an exclusive partnership with golf legend Vijay Singh.
