Xbox does real-time Dolby Digital E
Dolby Laboratories has announced that Microsofts Xbox will feature an all new real-time Dolby Digital encoding technology. Dolby Digital 5.1 is the standard in which audio is separated into 6 discrete channels - front left and right, center, rear left and right, and low frequecy effects. Previously, this audio format could only appear on video game systems if it was previously encoded for playback.
