Midway Clears the Air Over Xbox 360
US publisher Midway has confirmed that it intends to support Microsofts Xbox 360 console in future despite having no software ready for the systems Q4 launch, with seven titles for the platform currently in development. Speaking to US website GameSpot, a Midway representative said that "Midway is fully supporting the Xbox 360 and we have games in development at all of our internal studios." The news follows comments from Midway CEO David Zucker earlier this week which revealed that the company will be releasing software to support the launch of PlayStation 3, but not of Xbox 360. At the time, Zucker commented that the decision was down to a "pretty small install base" and said that "to really maximize, to get the performance out of some of the games, its going to take some time to do that. And we want to make sure were launching high-quality titles." However, the publisher fully intends to support Xbox 360 going forward, it insists, and has confirmed that seven games are in development for the platform at present in its internal studios - including an Xbox 360 version of next-gen title Stranglehold, which will also appear on PlayStation 3 and is a game sequel to Hong Kong director John Woos cult 1992 hit Hard Boiled.Source: http://www.gamerlounge.com
